Makam Irak is Varis in Zo, makam Segah is Legetos, soft diatonic Second mode (glasul 6), etc. The only institution that teaches systematically the makam theory in Romania are Orthodox Church seminaries and the books they publish, either Romanian original books, or those translated from Greek. Knowing psaltic musical theory will give you a strong foundation in makam knowledge. The advantage of it is that it also doesn't use Western notation which is made for Western music. It uses Byzantine notation which is specifically made for writing makam music.</p></blockquote><p></p>
